All File Viewer (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our application collects, uses, and safeguards your information.
We do not collect process, or store any personal identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or phone number. The application operates primarily offline.
1.2 File Data
Your documents and files (PDFs, Word documents, Excel sheets, Images, etc.) are processed locally on your device. We do not upload your files to any external server unless you explicitly choose to share them via third-party apps (e.g., email, messaging apps) using the system’s “Share” functionality.
We use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. This includes:
- Advertising IDs: To serve personalized or non-personalized ads.
- Device Identifiers: To help improve app stability and performance.
2. Permissions We Request
To function correctly, All File Viewer requires specific permissions:
- Storage Access (All Files Access):
- Why We Need This: All File Viewer is a document management application that scans your entire device storage to automatically discover and organize all your documents (PDFs, Word files, Excel sheets, images, etc.) stored anywhere on your device.
- What We Access: We request “All files access” permission (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on Android 11+) to scan and read files across your device including Downloads, Documents, app-specific folders, and other locations where documents may be stored.
- Read-Only Access: We only READ your files to display them in the app. We do not modify, delete, or move your original files. Any edits you make are saved as new files using the system’s file picker (you choose where to save).
- How We Use It: This permission allows the app to:
- Automatically scan and find all supported document types on your device
- Display them in an organized list for easy access
- Allow you to view and read these documents
- Create new files (PDFs, edited images) which you save using the system file picker
- Your Data Stays Local: All file scanning, viewing, and processing happens entirely on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store your files on any external servers.
- Version-Specific Permissions:
- Android 13+: Uses MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE for full device access
- Android 11-12: Uses MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE + READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
- Android 10 and below: Uses READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
- Alternative Access: You can also manually select individual files using the system file picker without granting full storage access, though this limits the app’s automatic discovery features.
- Camera:
- Required for the “Image to PDF” feature, “OCR (Text Recognition)” feature, and document scanning functionalities.
- Images captured are processed locally and are not sent to our servers.
- Internet Access:
- Required solely for displaying advertisements (via Google AdMob).
- No file data is transmitted over the internet.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, which have their own Privacy Policies:
- Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may use device identifiers to personalize ads.
- Google ML Kit: We use Google’s ML Kit for on-device Text Recognition (OCR) and Document Scanning. All processing happens on your phone.
4. Security
We value your trust in providing us your information, thus we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Since our app works offline for file processing, your data remains with you.
5. Children’s Privacy
Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
